News from Panama / Tuesday, June 20th, 2017

From 2018 an agreement will be in effect on the exchange of financial and tax information of accounts of Argentines in Panama and of Panamanians in the South American country.

From a statement issued by the Federal Public Revenue Administration of Argentina:

Starting next year bank account information will be accessible

The federal administrator of Public Revenues, Alberto Abad met with Luis Miguel Hincapié, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama and officials from the General Directorate of Revenues of that country.

At the meeting it was agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the Tax Administrations through the signing of an Automatic Information Exchange Agreement that will allow Argentina to have access to, from 2018, data on the accounts of Argentineans who are based in Panama. Likewise, the AFIP will report on the accounts of Panamanians living in our country.
