Gator Partners Latam has obtained a provisional license to build a combined cycle thermal generator based on ethane in Colon.

The objective of this project is to introduce a major new electricity supply for Panama using ethane, a clean fuel derived from natural gas liquids. The project involves the installation and operation of two (2) thermal barges (in a combined cycle configuration using motor engines and a steam turbine) capable of generating up to 400 MW.

This project involves the generation using engines in a combined cycle fed by ethane as main the fuel (95%) and the remainder (5%) is bunker fuel supplied through combined cycle 800 meter long pipes attached to tankers for estimated period of 13 days.

For this project, the promoter has estimated an investment of four million dollars (B / 400,000,000.00); this budget includes all project phases and additional plans.
