Add another Ironman victory to Lionel Sanders’ growing list of accomplishments.

Sanders captured gold at the Ironman 70.3 in Panama City on Sunday — defeating second place Anthony Costes by just over three minutes.

The Harrow native finished the 1.8-kilometre swim in a time of 24:35 and clocked 1:55:04 in the 88 km bike trek. In the 21-km run, Sanders clocked 1:14:47 for a final time of 3:38:52.

Costes of France came in second at 3:41:53 followed by Australia’s Tim Reed, who finished at 3:44:08.

In 2015, Sanders won four Ironman 70.3 events, including races in Racine, Wisc. and Muskoka, Ont.
