Imports by country 
In the first semester of 2017, the main importer of electric cables in Central America was Nicaragua with $92 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $79 million, El Salvador, with $71 million, Panama, with $46 million, Honduras, with $45 million and Guatemala, with $44 million.

Variation of regional imports 
Between the first semester of 2016 and the same period in 2017 the value imported into the region grew by 59%, increasing from $236 million to $376 million.

The amounts purchased by the region from the US and Mexico grew by 139% and 97% respectively.

Origin of imports 
From January to June 2017, 36% of the value imported into the region came from the USA, 27% from Mexico, 9% from China and 2% from Hong Kong.
